Want to help improve the health and wellbeing of LGBTQ+ childbearing people?

Your participation will involve three parts:

PHOTOS

You will be trained to take photographs in a specific way, a method called Photovoice. You will take intentional photos of your pregnancy and postpartum experiences guided by biweekly prompts we will send you.

INTERVIEWS

There will be three, one-to-two-hour interviews across ~six months. We will chat about your pregnancy and postpartum experiences and review the photos you have taken.

SURVEYS

There will be five surveys throughout the study. The questions in these surveys are intended to help us get to know you better, add more context around your experience, and provide early data for future studies.

Where will the interviews happen?

In the comfort of your home or in a private and quiet space of that you choose. If you need support finding a private location we can help!

When will the interviews happen?

We can schedule your interviews at times and days that are convenient for you. This can include weeknights or weekends if needed.

How will the interviews work?

We will chat using the videoconferencing tool, Zoom. This will require you have a computer or smart phone and reliable internet. If you need help accessing these things we can arrange something else.

 

I don’t have a fancy camera, can I still participate?

Absolutely! You can take photos on any device you’d like: your cell phone, a tablet, a digital camera, a disposable camera, etc.

I’m trying to become pregnant, can I still participate?

We encourage you to take the eligibility survey to determine if you may be able to participate during the study period.

My partner/spouse is pregnant, can I still participate?

At this time we are only enrolling parents who are pregnant (aka gestational parents), but we would love to talk to your loved one. Please send them our way!
